Bridgemates and EBU Numbers
These days, popular scoring programs will allow players to
identify themselves at the Bridgemate using either the short
player-id allocated by the program itself or their EBU
number. Both types may be used in the same event.
If the number entered by a player is not found in the club’s
own player database, the Bridgemate Control Software
[BCS] will carry out a secondary lookup in the local copy of
the national database. Where there are visitors playing at
the club: their names appear on the Bridgemate, and thry’re
added to the club’s database as visitors.
The scoring program will usually download the latest version
from the EBU website periodically to keep the local version
up-to-date. It is advisable to create a folder [e.g.
C:\Bridgemate] as the home for the local copy of the national
database, and also for Bridgemate log files.
The Bridgemate App
The two sessions of today’s event will be uploaded to the
Bridgemate app as two separate pairs events. The timing
and content of results availability to app users for a given
match is at the discretion of the organisers.
As soon as the allocation for the subsequent round has
been made, the app Guide Card will show you your next
table and opponents.
