Welcome to Lord’s

The M.C.C. Bridge Society is delighted to welcome you to
the 2019 Mixed Swiss Teams at Lord’s, the social highlight
of our year. The Swiss Teams format is simple and very
enjoyable, ensuring that teams play against others of
roughly the same standard as the day progresses. It’s a
competition but also a social event, and we expect
tournament newcomers to feel very comfortable.

The Long Room Bar will be fully operational from midday
until the end of the prize-giving. Tea, coffee, and snacks can
be purchased from the bar throughout the day. After three
matches we will have a tea interval with complimentary
sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks available from the Long
Room Bar.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in the overall
rankings. There will also be an “improvers” prize for the
team making the most progress in the last three matches.
We do ask that you stay for the prize-giving: a good
opportunity to celebrate, commiserate and relax over a drink
at the end of the day.

Our Chief Tournament Director today is Gary Conrad,
assisted by Ian Mitchell and Miranda Churchill. We ask you
to help them by making sure that you play each round of
seven boards and score up with your team mates within the
allotted 50 minutes for each round.
