Has your club seen its attendances swell during the Covid-
enforced online era? And, as face-to-face bridge resumes, is
your club now preparing to wave a fond farewell to those
players only able to play online, on account of geography,
disability, lack of transport, simple preference?
This doesn’t have to be the case, because with Bridgemate
Play, a club can run hybrid events, whereby the face-to-face
players at the club play normally, albeit with appropriate
sanitising arrangements, with the online players playing the
same boards online.
A hybrid event is created by the club’s normal scoring
program, with separate sections, face-to-face and online
players. All results are forwarded immediately to the
Bridgemate event database so, once a board has been
played, players see all previous results, both face-to-face
and online. The scoring program produces the combined
event results from this event database in the normal way.
The Bridgemate app server plays a crucial role in integrating
the face-to-face and online sections, and both club and
online players need to have an app account.
The only costs associated with hybrid events are small
charges per online player per board. See our website for
more extensive information.
