The Great Northern Swiss Pairs

The Great Northern Swiss Pairs is operated by the Yorkshire
Contract Bridge Association on behalf of the EBU. This 2-
day event comprises twelve 7-board matches as follows:

Saturday 1.30pm – 5.30pm Matches 1-4
Sunday 5.30pm – 6.45pm Hot buffet supper
6.45pm – 9.45pm Matches 5-7
11.15am –1.15pm Matches 8-9
1.15pm – 2.00pm Hot buffet lunch
2.00pm – 5.00pm Matches 10-12

The event is scored on a current-round basis, i.e. your
opponents for each round are determined by your overall
score at the end of the round just completed. Your next-
round assignments are notified via your Bridgemate , and
are also available via the Bridgemate app. Results and
hand-records will also be uploaded to the app: the detail and
timing of their visibility is at the event organiser’s discretion.

Each board is match-pointed across the field, and each
pair’s percentage for the seven boards is converted into VPs
using the table underneath the scoring summary.

0.25 green points are awarded per match won, and 0.13 per
match drawn. Bonus ranking awards are stratified:

• (A) overall ranking to the top quarter
• (B) no Premier Life Master or above
• (C) no Premier Regional Master or above
